Obtaining free music

Image of headphones

Sometimes words and pictures just don't cut it on their own. Music is hard to beat when it comes to setting an atmosphere at an event, or even for a Powerpoint presentation.

Searching on the web you may find sites which offer royalty free music, always be careful to check the small print to confirm that you may use the music for your particular use - often you will need to at least credit the artist.

Remember- keep it legal! The Performing Rights Society has lots of useful advice on using other people's music legally.

Let us know if there are any other sites that you can recommend, or if you notice that any of the links below no longer work.

Creative Commons - a new flexible copyright system for creative work. The site also lets you search for music, images etc or publish your own.
