More than 20,000 people from all across Europe are expected to participate in the forum. It’s a meeting place for European social movements on issues as wide ranging as environment, peace, women’s rights, and global justice.
Seminars and workshops will be mixed with culture, music, activism and demonstrations. But the forum is so much more than a meeting of a couple of days - it’s a chance to put forward alternatives and visions for the future and another, better, more sustainable Europe.
Friends of the Earth Europe is planning a number of activities to take place during the course of the ESF. These include seminars on food sovereignty and Europe’s global environmental footprint, and workshops on meat consumption, GM, biofuels, and communities in the global South resisting European corporate power, among others.
