Local group samples of publicity materials

Showcased below are some examples of the different uses that local groups have made of the new publicity materials. These could provide some useful ideas if you're about to do your own.

Please email us samples of your group materials so we can share good practice across the network.

Recruitment leaflets

Camden's recruitment leaflet

Top tips:

  • Use pictures - to break up the text and to provide some visual interest like in Camden Friends of the Earth's leaflet
  • Use colour - to highlight key bits of text like in Hillingdon and Brighton & Hove's leafets
  • Use white space - a clear and simple layout with lots of white space like Penistone's leaflet makes things easier on the eye
  • Find out what works - Hackney & Tower Hamlets' leaflet asks people where they found the leaflet to help them target where they distribute future ones
  • Use both sides - Hillingdon has its name and contact details on the printed side of the leaflet, leaving the groups contact details on the part that people keep.

Posters

Here are examples of how Penistone Friends of the Earth has used the recruitment poster and the meetings poster.

New group members welcome pack

Ask about people's interests and skills like in South Bedfordshire's questionnaire. This makes new members feel valued and could help you tailor your communications with them.

You could include the questionnaire in their welcome pack or try to find out about their interests in your recruitment leafet like in Hillingdon's leaflet.
