Stop EPAs - Don't lock Africa into Poverty This event took place on 19 Apr, 2007
The original description of this event was :
Trade Justice rally to demand that the EU stops negotiating unfair trade deals with developing countries. The governments of the EU are pushing Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) upon 76 of the poorest countries in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP) region. These countries are being put under pressure from Europe as it rushes to complete these deals by the end of the year. Grossly unfair EPAs deals are set to put jobs and economies at risk in developing countries, undermine healthcare provision and education for poor people, as well as damage their environment.
Come to this event and take action with campaigners across Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. Friends of the Earth campaigners will deliver their message to the UK’s Department for Trade and industry (DTI).
