The original description of this event was :

The aims of this training day are to help you: identify why you want new members; decide how you'll prepare for them and keep them interested once they're involved; think through how to raise interest in your group; and to explore how to make the most of the time of new members. This event is suitable for anybody who believes this to be an important issue in their group, whether you're a new member or a more experienced activist. Please let Penny know if you would like to attend this event.

Recruitment: Attracting people to your group by
This document provides ideas on attracting people to your group via: methods for publicising your group; targeted recruitment for those with time, specific interests, or useful skills; selling the benefits of being in a group; overcoming the barriers people can put up to being involved.

Recruitment: Communicating with potential members by
Ideas for how to make the most of your first interactions with potential members, including: the initial call or e-mail exchange; their first meeting (before, during and after); the follow up call to the first meeting.

Recruitment: Motivating people by
Ideas on how to keep people inspired and involved, including: early on – explore what motivated them to join the group; in the first few months – involve and support them; after a few months – would they like to be involved in a main campaign; on-going – gather everyone’s ideas about what the group should do.
