This event took place on 09 Apr, 2005

The original description of this event was :

Note - this event was originally set for 19 March, but has been rescheduled.
Are you new to the role of co-ordinator for your local group? Are you interested in becoming a co-ordinator? Would you like to find out how to support your co-ordinator in their role and help to make your local group a successful team? This day will help you to feel more confident through: workshops on key skills such as running good meetings and planning your campaigning; discussions with other co-ordinators about the challenges you're facing and how to manage these; and time to think through your expectations and plans.

Various documents from the event are available below. These will usually be in PDF format.
These documents or parts of them should not be reproduced without the prior permission of Friends of the Earth, and any such usage should include reference to the author.

How to facilitate fun and effective meetings by
Good facilitation makes meetings more useful and more enjoyable for everyone there, and helps groups become more effective. This handout sets out some key facilitation roles and responsibilities, then lists a series of practical tools you and your group may find useful in fulfilling these roles.

Ideas for perking up your group by
This is a write up of suggestions for perking up your local group, made at recent induction days for coordinators.

What makes an effective campaigning team? by
Campaigns are the raison d'etre of Friends of the Earth groups, a key reason people join, and a key reason for wanting to develop them into an effective team. But they can also be a key ingredient in buidling a strong team. Thinking together we came up with the key factors of an effective campaigning team, then working in pairs we came up with ways to ensure those factors are present in your campaigns. There was also an opportunity for participants to work through challenge or problem which their group faces or take one of the challenges we thought up. The outcome was a plan with ways to move towards solutions.

Tips on how to deal with difficult behaviour by
A few keys do and don'ts on dealing with difficult behaviour.
