When and where?
We meet once a month in Aylesbury. We have evening or afternoon meetings. Our next meeting will take place at 6 Castle Street, Aylesbury, HP20 2RE, at 3pm on Thursday 13 November 2008. Please contact Valerie on 01296 720724 for details about access to the building.
About this group
We welcome members who live in, or close to, Aylesbury Vale. We often work on topics that fall within the scope of Aylesbury Vale District Council or Buckinghamshire County Council. However our local campaigning issues often cross boundaries into Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes and we work with our Friends of the Earth colleagues in these areas. Annual membership is £8 for individuals, £12 for families, and £3 for full-time students.
What's going on
South East Expansion issues affect us greatly and we are concerned to monitor and influence the large-scale housing and infrastructure developments in our area, eg road-building, waste disposal, new industry, building construction. Our members sit on some of the committees that discuss these issues. We also campaign on international issues such as climate change, bio-diversity, farming and industrial practices.
